Police were called to a home on Fairway Drive for a possible incident involving child abuse on Oct. 15. According to police, Nix was the baby sitter of three children at the home when the incident occurred. Police say the three children were checked out by AAA Ambulance Service at the scene at the original call, and had no apparent injuries. The children were turned back over to their parent. The 400-acre Kamper Park is located at 107 South 17th Avenue in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Historically, the land was donated by John Kamper during the 19th century. It houses the 12-acre Hattiesburg Zoo which officially opened to the public in 1950. The public park features tennis courts, walking trails, and playground for kids of all ages. It also provides train rides, climbing course and book drops which are offered for free. Park visitors can also sit and relax under shaded areas while enjoying the views. There are ample refreshments inside the park which are all offered for a reasonable amount.
